Aleksandros Shkurti

Superyachts are the epitome of luxury and opulence, floating palaces that offer a lifestyle of unparalleled extravagance. These incredible vessels are owned by some of the world's wealthiest individuals, and they showcase the pinnacle of design, technology, and craftsmanship. Here, we explore the top 10 biggest superyachts, each one a testament to the limitless ambition of their creators.

1. REV Ocean | 194.4m

Despite facing a temporary setback, the construction of the colossal REV Ocean, now standing at an impressive 194.4 meters, has resumed at Vard's Norwegian shipyard. This groundbreaking vessel, a fusion of research vessel and superyacht, is destined to embark on global expeditions, conducting essential research and venturing to the most remote corners of the world.

2. Luminance | 145m

With a commanding presence, Project Luminance emerges from the Lürssen shipyard, its classic raked bow and soaring superstructure exuding an air of power and sophistication. The yacht's two-tone livery of navy blue and silver, punctuated by two helipads and an expansive infinity pool, is the brainchild of Espen Øino, marking his 30th collaboration with the renowned shipyard. While details of the interior design, crafted by Francois Zuretti, remain under wraps, glimpses of its grandeur have been captured during sea trials in April.

3. Project Ali Baba | 142m

Project Ali Baba, another colossal creation from the Lürssen shipyard, made a rather dramatic debut in May 2022, emerging from the construction shed in two halves. Its official launch took place in December 2023, following an unexpected revelation when a technical malfunction at the shipyard's Bremen facilities caused the yacht's nose to collide with the dock curtain. Beyond the initial image showcasing a grey profile, elongated bow, and striking exterior lines, including two helipads, details about this enigmatic yacht remain tightly concealed.

4. Project Deep Blue | 130m

Despite Lürssen's discretion, Project Deep Blue is believed to surpass the 130-meter mark in length. In July, the semi-complete hull was observed departing the shipyard's Lemwerder facility, embarking on a journey to Lürssen's Bremen site for the next phase of construction. Here, the bow segment will be seamlessly integrated, and the yacht is anticipated to be delivered in 2025.

5. Project JAG | 122m

Commissioned by a loyal client seeking a larger vessel, Project JAG marks the owner's third superyacht collaboration with Lürssen. The yacht's design, spearheaded by Nuvolari Lenard, reflects a futuristic aesthetic, with prominent wing-like masts and an elongated pointed bow featuring a distinctive bowsprit walkway. Accommodating 20 guests in 11 lavish cabins, Project JAG boasts an impressive crew complement of 40, ensuring a lavish and attentive experience for its fortunate passengers. The yacht made its grand debut in August 2023 and was last spotted embarking on sea trials, gracefully sailing down the Kiel Canal in October 2023.

6. Amels 120 Full Custom | 120m

As an extension of the renowned Amels Limited Editions line, the 120-meter superyacht in development is crafted in collaboration with Espen Øino, marking their second custom partnership with the Dutch shipyard. This "unique and powerful" vessel is poised to be a "green, ecological superyacht" equipped with diesel-electric engines and Azipod propulsion, ensuring exceptional noise and vibration control. Currently the largest project in construction within the Netherlands, the yacht was last sighted arriving at the Damen Yachting facility in Vlissingen, the Netherlands, for outfitting procedures. Scheduled for delivery in 2025, it is anticipated to become the largest Dutch-built motor yacht worldwide.

7. Abeking 6514 | 120m

In October 2021, German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen announced the signing of a contract to build a superyacht that would exceed 120 meters in length. This new project, aptly named Abeking 6514, will surpass the previous record set by their 118-meter Project 6507, now commonly referred to as Liva O.

8. Feadship 821 | 118.8m

Feadship's future flagship made her grand entrance as she emerged from her construction shed in April 2022. This remarkable vessel, known as Feadship 821, is poised to become the shipyard's largest yacht to date, surpassing the 110-meter Anna and, as far as we know, even eclipsing the recently launched Project 1010. Feadship 821 is scheduled for completion in 2024, heralding the dawn of a new era of luxury yachting.

9. Project 1010 | 118.8m

Project 1010, a 4,999GT masterpiece from Feadship, represents a significant milestone for the renowned shipyard. The yacht's design, penned by the esteemed Espen Øino, showcases fluid lines that are subtly interrupted by an intriguing pair of "eyebrows" positioned amidships. Project 1010 exudes elegance with its dark blue hull, sharply raked white superstructure, and a distinctive observation lounge "bubble" deck featuring curved floor-to-ceiling glass, nestled neatly beneath the mast.

10. Project Cosmos | 114m

Project Cosmos, yet another magnificent creation from the German shipyard Lürssen, emerged from its construction shed in March 2023. This remarkable vessel, powered by fuel cells, was commissioned in 2020 by a Japanese owner and boasts an explorer-style profile with a glass observation lounge, swimming pool, and an exceptionally large tender bay. Its exterior, designed by renowned Australian designer Marc Newson, the visionary behind the 139.7-meter Solaris, is a testament to his unparalleled creativity and craftsmanship. Project Cosmos was last spotted en route to its outfitting location in August 2023, and its delivery is anticipated in 2025.
